Job Description

As the Application Support Analyst you will be a vital member of the Technology team who manage all the systems, ensuring they are stable, functional and fit for purpose.

Role Responsibilities

– Work with IT Security to ensure that access to the systems is suitably provided, modified and removed once approval has been provided, and support audit activity to prove our controls are effective.

– Manage overnight, end-of-month and exceptional batch activities as required.

– Review, configure and modify alerting for the applications within scope.

– Investigate, triage, diagnose and resolve faults across the application landscape in line with our target service levels, IT and Risk Management policies and practices.

– Fulfil service requests on systems within your scope on request from stakeholders and users.

– Deploy changes to the services under your remit, whether operational changes to support stability and security of the applications; or upgrades, changes in functionality or features – whilst complying with Change Management governance.

– Working with Release Management teams to support defect management and resolution, routes to live.

– Participate in duty rotas, providing out of hours cover for the application landscape and overnight batches supporting incidents or Operational and Delivery changes that require action outside of core office hours.

– Facilitate small-scale development on the systems under your control, to address new features, changes to functionality, stability and security fixes.

– Work with internal technical teams and external suppliers to develop small-scale fixes, new features and execute repeatable scripts on the platforms reducing our reliance on vendor resource.

– Work with internal teams to identify appropriate administrative, management and support tasks to move into scope of the Application Support team – and further shift left into the Service Desk.

Skills & Experience Required

– Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Objects, SSIS, SSAS, T-SQL and SSRS is essential.

– Previous experience of Java, PowerBI, PowerCube, Microsoft Azure fundamentals & database, and API Management would be beneficial

– Experience of Elastic, Grafana, Microsoft Access and IIS extremely beneficial.

– Support of Microsoft Office / Office 365 / Microsoft 365 in an enterprise management setting is essential.
