Job Description

As the Domain Architect you will be reporting to the Head of Architecture & Engineering and will play a pivotal role in aligning business strategy with technology solutions, ensuring that the organisation’s business capabilities are well-defined, understood and optimised. This role requires a deep understanding of the offshore investment and wealth management industry.

Role Responsibilities

– Responsible for the design, maintenance and operation of company Domain Architecture and Design governance processes.

– Key contributor of the Business Design Authority, with responsibility for ensuring that architecture and design activity is in line with IT and Architectural principles, and contributes towards the target state capabilities of the organisation.

– Responsible for the development and maintenance of Domain Architecture principles and standards as a directive control for IT design activity.

– Responsible for creation and maintenance of the Domain Architecture Catalogues and Solution Design Repository.

– Drives a re-use agenda in the deployment of technology solutions through maintenance of a Solution Building Block repository (for both Application and Technology / Infrastructure use cases).

– Responsible for maintenance of ‘as-is’ Domain Architectural Landscapes to support Run, Change, and Transform the Business type activities.

– Create and Maintain domain roadmaps to support strategic change initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.

– Develop and maintain a business capability-based viewpoint of the target state architecture to support our digital transformation.

– Foster strong relationships with business stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and reflected in architecture decisions. Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the group to understand their strategic needs from technology, and translate these into architectural roadmaps and solutions.

– Educates stakeholders on ‘art of the possible’ of technology enablement, leveraging our existing technology investments and partnerships where possible.

– Leading the RFI/RFP process, involving technical and non-technical aspects, with input from business unit SMEs.

– Assisting in due diligence activities related to mergers and acquisitions.

– Contributing to the development of artifacts, methodologies, and tools for solution design and delivery standards.

– Identify potential risks and challenges in business architecture and propose mitigation strategies.

– Leading innovative solutions, enhancing solution capabilities, and increasing automation within the domain.

– Works closely with Head of Change and Head of IT Delivery to translate roadmaps into rolling portfolio of Change delivery.

Skills & Experience Required

– Strong understanding of business architecture principles and practices.

– Proficiency in domain roadmap management.

– Strong experience with solution architecture, including business capability-based architecture.

– Familiarity with the RFI/RFP process, including technical and non-technical aspects.

– Knowledge of M&A due diligence activities.

– Expertise in developing solution designs and standards.

– Risk management skills.

– Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

– Strong leadership and collaboration skills within multi-discipline teams.

– Degree qualified or with equivalent professional experience.

– Recognised Architecture / IT qualifications (e.g. TOGAF, ITIL) are desirable.

– Experience of working in a complex sourcing environment with multiple, diverse partnerships.

– Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.

– Broad experience of all architecture domains (including business, data, applications, integration, infrastructure and security) and reference models, standards and patterns, with a focus on business and application domains.

– Experience of Business and IT architecture design at the conceptual (high-level), logical and physical (detailed) levels.

– Ability to take a strategic view and see the ‘big-picture’, aligned to the ability to adopt an analytical approach to complex problem solving and consideration of operational implications.

– Proven ability to design and deliver flexible, reliable, operable, cost effective solutions.
